Abstract

The problem of optimally controlling a Wiener process until it leaves an interval (a; b) for the first time is considered in the case when the infinitesimal parameters of the process are random. When a = ��1, the exact optimal control is derived by solving the appropriate system of differential equations, whereas a very precise approximate solution in the form of a polynomial is obtained in the two-barrier case.

Abstract

In this paper a small time local controllability, naturally defined in a configuration space, is transferred into a task-space. It was given its analytical characterization and practical implications. A special attention was put on singular configurations. Theoretical considerations were illustrated with two calculation examples. An extensive comparison of the proposed construction with the controllability defined in an endogenous configuration space approach was presented pointing out to their advantages and disadvantages.

Abstract

This paper presents a robust model free controller (RMFC) for a class of uncertain continuous-time single-input single-output (SISO) minimum-phase nonaffine-in-control systems. Firstly, the existence of an unknown dynamic inversion controller that can achieve control objectives is demonstrated. Afterwards, a fast approximator is designed to estimate as best as possible this dynamic inversion controller. The proposed robust model free controller is an equivalent realization of the designed fast approximator. The perturbation theory and Tikhonov’s theorem are used to analyze the stability of the overall closed-loop system. The performance of the developped controller are verified experimentally in the position control of a pneumatic actuator system.

Abstract

The problem of mathematical modelling and indication of properties of a DIP has been investigated in this paper. The aim of this work is to aggregate the knowledge on a DIP modelling using the Euler-Lagrange formalism in the presence of external forces and friction. To indicate the main properties important for simulation, model parameters identification and control system synthesis, analytical and numerical tools have been used. The investigated properties include stability of equilibrium points, a chaos of dynamics and non-minimum phase behaviour around an upper position. The presented results refer to the model of a physical (constructed) DIP system.

Abstract

A new 4-D dynamical system exhibiting chaos is introduced in this work. The proposed nonlinear plant with chaos has an unstable rest point and a line of rest points. Thus, the new nonlinear plant exhibits hidden attractors. A detailed dynamic analysis of the new nonlinear plant using bifurcation diagrams is described. Synchronization result of the new nonlinear plant with itself is achieved using Integral Sliding Mode Control (ISMC). Finally, a circuit model using MultiSim of the new 4-D nonlinear plant with chaos is carried out for practical use.

Abstract

The paper presents a Car Sequencing Problem, widely considered in the literature. The issue considered by the researchers is only a reduced problem in comparison with the problem in real automotive production. Consequently, a newconcept, called Paint Shop 4.0., is considered from the viewpoint of a sequencing problem. The paper is a part of the previously conducted research, identified as Car Sequencing Problem with Buffers (CSPwB), which extended the original problem to a problem in a production line equipped with buffers. The new innovative approach is based on the ideas of Industry 4.0 and the buffer management system. In the paper, sequencing algorithms that have been developed so far are discussed. The original Follow-up Sequencing Algorithm is presented, which is still developed by the authors. The main goal of the research is to find the most effective algorithm in terms of minimization of painting gun changeovers and synchronization necessary color changes with periodic gun cleanings. Carried out research shows that the most advanced algorithm proposed by the authors outperforms other tested methods, so it is promising to be used in the automotive industry.

Abstract

Although the explicit commutativitiy conditions for second-order linear time-varying systems have been appeared in some literature, these are all for initially relaxed systems. This paper presents explicit necessary and sufficient commutativity conditions for commutativity of second-order linear time-varying systems with non-zero initial conditions. It has appeared interesting that the second requirement for the commutativity of non-relaxed systems plays an important role on the commutativity conditions when non-zero initial conditions exist. Another highlight is that the commutativity of switched systems is considered and spoiling of commutativity at the switching instants is illustrated for the first time. The simulation results support the theory developed in the paper.

Abstract

The stability analysis for discrete-time fractional linear systems with delays is presented. The state-space model with a time shift in the difference is considered. Necessary and sufficient conditions for practical stability and for asymptotic stability have been established. The systems with only one matrix occurring in the state equation at a delayed moment have been also considered. In this case analytical conditions for asymptotic stability have been given. Moreover parametric descriptions of the boundary of practical stability and asymptotic stability regions have been presented.

Instructions for authors

Each paper submitted is subject to a review procedure, and the publication decision is based on reviers' comments on the paper. To avoid delay, please prepare the manuscript carefully following the suggestions listed below.

Computer file of the manuscript may be sent by e-mail to the address of Assistant Editor or acs@polsl.pl. Preferred text processors is TeX or LaTeX, however Word and other processors are also acceptable. In case of difficulties in processing the text, the author may be asked to supply the ASCII export of the original file.

Manuscripts sent via ordinary post should be typewritten double-spaced on one side of a standard size (A4) paper. Left side margin should be approximately 3cm (1.2'') wide. Each page should contain approximately 30 lines of 60 characters each. The manuscript including figures and tables together with their captions should be submitted. A separate signed letter giving the Author's preferred address for correspondence and return of proofs should be enclosed. Manuscript is the basis for editorial work.

First page should include the title of the paper, first name(s) and surname(s) of the Author(s), and a short summary (abstract), not longer than 20 lines.

Keywords of max. 5 - 7 items should be included in manuscript.

Numeration. All chapters, including the introduction, should be numbered in arabic numerals. Equations, tables and figures as well as theorems, corollaries, examples etc., should be numbered consecutively throughout the paper in arabic numerals, except in appendices. Appendices should be numbered with capital letters, and numeration should be closed within individual appendices.

If the manuscript is not prepared with TeX, mathematical expressions should be carefully written so as not to arouse confusion. Care should be taken that subscripts and superscripts are easily readable.

Tables and figures should be placed as desired by the Author within the text or on separate sheets with their suggested location indicated by the number of table or figure in the text. Figures, graphs and pictures (referred to as Fig. in the manuscript) should be numbered at the beginning of their caption following the figure. All figures should be prepared as PostScript EPS files or LaTeX picture files; in special cases, bitmaps of figure are also acceptable. The numbers and titles of tables should be placed above the main body of each table.

References should be listed alphabetically at the end of the manuscript. They should be numbered in ascending order and the numbers should be inserted in square brackets. References should be organized as follows. First initial(s), surname(s) of the author(s) and title of article or book. Then, for papers: title of periodical or collective work, volume number (year of issue), issue number, and numbers of the first and the last page; for books: publisher's name(s), place and year of issue. Example:

Please, give full titles of journals; only common words like Journal, Proceedings, Conference, etc. may be abbreviated ( to J., Proc., Conf., ... respectively). References to publications in the body of the manuscript should be indicated by the numbers of the adequate references in square brackets. When the paper is set in TeX the preferable form of preparing references is Bib TeX bib database.
