In the paper a new, state space, non integer order model of an one-dimensional heat transfer process is proposed. The model uses a new operator with Mittag-Leffler kernel, proposed by Atangana and Beleanu. The non integer order spatial derivative is expressed by Riesz operator. Analytical formula of the step response is given, the convergence of the model is discussed too. Theoretical results are verified by experiments.
To date, only a few studies on the azithromycin (AZM) pharmacokinetics in ornamental birds have been published. In the current study AZM concentrations in domestic pigeon (Columba livia domestica) plasma samples were analyzed using a validated ultra-high performance liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry method. The aim of the current study was to carry out an analysis of the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics after administration of a single oral dose of a sustained-release AZM formulation and to conduct a simulation of treatment based on selected minimal inhibitory values. The study was performed with 12 healthy adult pigeons, both sexes. The pigeons tolerated AZM very well and no adverse effects were observed in any animal during the study. Based on the observed characteristics of the pharmacokinetics/ /pharmaco dynamics profiles of AZM in pigeons, it should be noted that 35 mg/kg per os as a single starting dose and 25 mg/kg every 24 h are recommended for treatment of both suscep- tible and less susceptible pathogens.
Rumex thyrsiflorus Fingerh. is mentioned as a European folk medicinal plant. This species has also been traditionally used as an edible plant in Eastern Europe because of its nutritional value. During the study, qualitative and quantitative sex-related differences of phenolic constituents in methanolic leaf extracts of R. thyrsiflorus were evaluated. The presence of the same substances (nine phenolic acids before, and six phenolic acids after acid hydrolysis, nine flavonoids, and a catechin) was estimated in both female and male specimens, using the HPLC-DAD method. A statistically significant higher content of eleven constituents in female plant extracts (acids: chlorogenic, p-coumaric, cryptochlorogenic, gallic, protocatechuic, neochlorogenic, vanillic; flavonoids: quercitrin, rhamnetin, rutoside; and catechin) was shown. This is the first report concerning the relation between the sex and the content of biologically active phenolic secondary metabolites in leaf extracts of R. thyrsiflorus. Female plants of R. thyrsiflorus could be useful for pharmaceutical purposes as a preferential source of bioactive phenolic acids, flavonoids and especially catechin.
Chromosome numbers for 23 taxa of Hieracium L. from Bulgaria, Greece, Poland and Slovakia are given and their metaphase plates are illustrated. The ploidy level of 8 taxa was also confirmed by flow cytometry. Chromosome numbers are published for the first time for Hieracium bracteolatum subsp. koracis (Boiss.) Zahn (4x), H. marmoreum Pančić & Vis. (3x), H. ossaeum Zahn (3x), H. sartorianum Boiss. & Heldr. (3x), H. sericophyllum Nejčeff & Zahn (3x) as well as for five other undescribed species.
The paper presents the problem which concerning the technology of bimetallic castings in materials configuration: high-chromium steel as the working layer and grey cast iron as the base part. The aim of the studies was integrate the process of manufacturing of bimetallic casting with the heat treatment of hardening type of X46Cr13 steel insert by applying the mould with sandmix on a matrix of chromite sand. Range of studies included the chemical composition analysis, non-destructive ultrasonic tests to examine the quality of the permanent bond between the working layer (steel insert) and the base part (grey cast iron) of the bimetallic castings, hardness measurements as well as metallographic examinations performed on the optical and scanning electron microscopes. On the basis of obtained results was concluded that the self-hardening process occurred in the X46Cr 13 steel working layer and in result of this the hardness on its surface equalled approx. 45HRC in case of the bimetallic castings with full permanent bond between both parts.
