Abstract

The rapid development of grid integration of solar energy in developing countries like India has created vital concerns such as fluctuations and interruptions affecting grid operations. Improving the consistency and accuracy of solar energy forecasts can increase the reliability of the power grid. Although solar energy is available in abundance around the world, it is viewed as an unpredictable source due to uncertain fluctuations in climate conditions. Global horizontal irradiance (GHI) prediction is critical to efficiently manage and forecast the power output of solar power plants. However, developing an accurate GHI forecasting model is challenging due to the variability of weather conditions over time. This research aims to develop and compare univariate LSTM models capable of predicting GHI in a solar power plant in India over the short term. The present study introduces a deep neural network-based (DNN) hybrid model with a combination of convolutional neural network bi-directional long short-term memory (CNN BiLSTM) to predict the one minute interval GHI of a solar power plant located in the southern region of India. The model’s effectiveness was tested using data for the month of January 2023. In addition, the results of the hybrid model were compared to the long short-term memory (LSTM) and BiLSTM deep-learning (DL) models. It has been observed that the proposed hybrid model framework is more accurate compared to the LSTM and BiLSTM architectures. Finally, a GHI prediction tool was developed to understand the trend of the results.

Abstract

In this paper, we propose sensorless backstepping control of a double-star induction machine (DSIM). First, the backstepping approach is designed to steer the flux and speed variables to their references and to compensate uncertainties. Lyapunov”s theory is used and it demonstrates that the dynamic tracking of trajectories tracking is asymptotically stable. Second, unfortunately, this law control called sophisticated is a major problem which leads to the necessity of using a mechanical sensor (speed, load torque). This imposes an additional cost and increases the complexity of the montage. In practice, this variable is unknown and its measurement is expensive. To restrain this problem we estimate speed and load torque by using a Luenberger observer (LO). Simulation results are provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed approach in high and low variable speeds and load torque disturbance.

Abstract

Rola wysokiego kotwienia górotworu z wykorzystaniem kotwi strunowych dla wzmacniania obudów podporowych w polskim górnictwie węgla kamiennego systematycznie rośnie. Jest to związane głównie z koniecznością zwiększania nośności systemów obudowy podporowej wobec coraz trudniejszych warunków obciążeniowych powodowanych głównie wzrostem głębokości, rozbudowaną tektoniką i wpływami eksploatacji dokonanej w aktualnie wybieranych złożach.

Abstract

This article deals with the project of Legal Committee of the International Maritime Organization to revise the Convention for the Suppression of SUA. The reason for changes in this convention and other maritime conventions is certainly the growth in the danger of terrorist acts at sea. The author calls this the "11 September" syndrome. The proposed changes, prepared by the US delegation, above all entails a significant widening of the typology of acts against the safety of maritime navigation. The idea of these changes leads to the linking of the new crimes introduced into the SUA Convention with many other anti-terrorist conventions. The author of this essay draws attention to the fact may lead to the attenuation of the maritime specificity of the SUA Convention. The close linking of the SUA Convention with other acts of international law certainly has benefits in terms of systematization, but may hinder the ratification of the new version of the SUA Convention by a range of states. The article points to the difficulties connected with the adaptation of internal law to the contents of the modified convention. It also discusses the postulate of supplementing Polish law with other international anti-terrorist regulations, including the Protocol for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the safety of Fixed Platforms Located on the Continental Shelf (Rome 1988).

Abstract

Bible and liturgy are the main sources of the Church's life. The Bible tells us about God saving man and the liturgy makes present the salvation given by God. The presentation of the Bible in the liturgy begins with the description of the syna- gogue worship at the time of the early Church. Since the beginning Christians read the Bible during the liturgy. The liturgy of the word was formed gradually, until it reached its final shape in he antiquity. That form was preserved till the Second Vatican Council. The Council resolved to enrich the table of the Divine Word and to read the Scripture in a cycle longer than one year. For Sundays and festivities has been introduced a triennial cycle, the readings of the liturgy of the hours have been changed, biblical readings have been added to the liturgy of the sacraments and the Psalms have been distributed in a 4-weeks cycle.

The words of the Bible are not only read but they become prayer and song. The liturgical prayers draw their inspiration, words and expressions from the Scripture. It is Christ who proclaims the gospel, God speaks to his people and the Church listens to the Divine Word. The liturgy of the Word is closely connected with the liturgy of the Eucharist. During the Mass, the table of the Divine Word and the table of the Eucharist are spread.

Abstract

This article deals with the three discursive strategies which were used by French intellectuals for establishing their attitudes towards the political sphere on the basis of different ‘truth speeches’. This paper states that the notion of truth, which represents a certain relation between reality and the knowledge, played a special role in the debates between French intellectuals over their social and political vocation in the 20th century — from the Dreyfus Affair to contemporary media debates.

Abstract

The paper examines Edward Said's critique of Thomas Edward Lawrence view on Arabs and Arabian culture and society. On the one hand some of Said's allegations seems poorly grounded and can be deny with some excerpts from Lawrence's Seven Pillars of Wisdom. On the other hand Said doesn't remark serious shortcomings of Lawrence's outlook of intercultural relations.
