Abstract

In the article, the concept, design and realization of the technological demonstrator of a mobile device for generating an electromagnetic curtain (with a name AEGIS) were presented, both in the hardware and software areas. The device is designed to block the radio communication which allow detonating the Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Devices (RCIEDs). The preliminary laboratory tests of the demonstrator for generating the jamming signal, that were presented in the paper, aimed at assessing the correctness of the device operation and verification of generated signal parameters. On the basis of the obtained results, the ability to jam the cellular systems as well as other radio devices operating in the frequency band from 400 MHz to 2700 MHz was assessed.

Abstract

This paper presents the design of a wearable electroencephalography device and signal processing algorithm for early detection and forecasting of the epileptiform activity. The availability of the examination of functional brain activity for a prolonged period, outside of the hospital facilities, can provide new advantages in early diagnosis and intervention systems. In this study, the low-cost five-channel device is presented. The system consists of two main parts: the data acquisition and transmission units and processing algorithms. In order to create the robust epileptiform pattern recognition approach the application of statistical sampling and signal processing techniques are performed. The discrete wavelet and Hilbert- Huang transforms with principal component analysis are used in order to extract and select a low-dimension feature vector.

Abstract

A review of Walentyna Sobol’s edition of a part of the Diary of Pylyp Orlyk, covering the years 1725–1726. The publication of the work of one of the champions of Ukrainian statehood, written in exile, takes on a symbolic dimension as it coincides with Ukraine’s struggle against Moscow’s aggression.

Abstract

The author analyses the structure of the predicative expression, i.e. a mor-phosyntactic construction functioning as the so-called constitutive predicate of the proposition in question. She illustrates her analysis with examples from Polish and from Macedonian – two languages whose grammatical systems are maximally typologicaly opposed in the frame of the Slavic linguistic group. She states that the predicative expression is composed of 1) constitutive form of verbum finitum and 2) its adjuncts formalized as adverbia and/or adverbialia responding to the questions: when? how long? how? in which mood? in which way? and carrying supplementary information from the semantic domains of the grammatical categories characteristic of the finite verb, such as ‘time’, ‘aspect’, or ‘mood’; most numerous are those informing (a) on the location of the referred to event on the time-axis or (b) on the procedure leading to the realization of that event.
