Abstract

The presence of a binary variable in the cointegrated VAR (CVAR) model is most often interpreted as the structural break affecting the data generating process. It is proved in the paper that to enjoy this interpretation the binary variable must appear simultaneously inside and outside the cointegration space. In order to test for the break we advocate to employ the Wald statistic, however, its critical values and the power had to be simulated separately for the possible change of the constant, the trend, and both. The experiments were designed for different sizes of the cointegrating space, number of variables, the span of the break, normally and t-distributed errors. It is shown that the power of the test depends mostly on the magnitude of the break and the sample size while other factors are of secondary importance. In order to test for the break at unknown period the supWald statistic was proposed.

Abstract

Belts are widely applied in mine production for conveying ores. Understanding ore granularity, which is a crucial factor in determining the effectiveness of crushers, is vital for optimising production efficiency throughout the crushing process and ensuring the success of subsequent operations. Based on edge computing technology, an online detection method is investigated to rapidly and accurately obtain ore granularity information on high-speed conveyor belts. The detection system utilising machine vision technology is designed in this paper. The high-speed camera set above the belt is used to collect the image of the ore flow, and the collected image is input into the edge computing device. After binary, grey morphology and convex hull algorithm processing, the particle size distribution of ore is obtained by statistical analysis. Finally, a 5G router is used to output the settlement result to a cloud platform. In the GUANBAOSHAN mine of Ansteel Group, the deviation between manual screening and image particle size analysis was studied. Experimental results show that the proposed method can detect the ore granularity, ore flow width and ore flow terminal in real-time. It can provide a reference for the staff to adjust the parameters of the crushing equipment, reduce the mechanical loss and the energy consumption of the equipment, improve the efficiency of crushing operation and reduce the failure rate of the crusher.

Abstract

To investigate the effect of different proximate index on minimum ignition temperature(MIT) of coal dust cloud, 30 types of coal specimens with different characteristics were chosen. A two-furnace automatic coal proximate analyzer was employed to determine the indexes for moisture content, ash content, volatile matter, fixed carbon and MIT of different types of coal specimens. As the calculated results showed that these indexes exhibited high correlation, a principal component analysis (PCA) was adopted to extract principal components for multiple factors affecting MIT of coal dust, and then, the effect of the indexes for each type of coal on MIT of coal dust was analyzed. Based on experimental data, support vector machine (SVM) regression model was constructed to predicate the MIT of coal dust, having a predicating error below 10%. This method can be applied in the predication of the MIT for coal dust, which is beneficial to the assessment of the risk induced by coal dust explosion (CDE).

Abstract

The scattering of plane steady-state sound waves from a viscous fluid-filled thin cylindrical shell weak- ened by a long linear slit and submerged in an ideal fluid is studied. For the description of vibrations of elastic objects the Kirchhoff-Love shell-theory approximation is used. An exact solution of this problem is obtained in the form of series with cylindrical harmonics. The numerical analysis is carried out for a steel shell filled with oil and immersed in seawater. The modules and phases of the scattering amplitudes versus the dimensionless wavenumber of the incident sound wave as well as directivity patterns of the scattered field are investigated taking into consideration the orientation of the slit on the elastic shell surface. The plots obtained show a considerable influence of the slit and viscous fluid filler on the diffraction process.
