Abstract

Currently, more and more investments are carried out in areas with difficult ground conditions, where in addition there may be a high level of groundwater. Therefore, it is necessary to use technologies which ensure the safety of the building in the exploitation phase by, among others, ensuring appropriate leak-tightness of its underground part. The article focuses on presenting the application of watertight concrete system (WCS), also known as "white tub" technology, which is an effective way to protect the underground part of the building against the destructive effects of water. The aim of this paper is to present and analyze selected methods of securing the underground parts of erected buildings using the "white tub" technology. In this paper, the authors analyze and select the solution using a multi-criteria analysis. The presented method will be used on a selected object.

Abstract

In this research, a series of centrifuge model tests and dynamic response analyses were conducted to elucidate the impact of a composite structure comprised of a reinforced earth-pressure-resistant technique, using both masonry blocks and the reinforced earth method, which was installed at the slope toe end of an aged reservoir. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the seismic response of the embankment. The experimental tests included shaking table tests that were performed on an unreinforced embankment as well as a masonry block reinforced embankment, both in a water storage condition. The dynamic behavior of the embankment, as well as the propagation of slip failure, were compared and verified. Through the use of elasto-plastic dynamic response analysis, using the finite element method, the location of the slip surface, the settlement of the embankment and the dynamic response characteristics, as obtained experimentally, were examined to clarify the effects of the counter measure structure. The results indicate that the implementation of masonry blocks and the reinforcement installed behind them greatly improve the stability of the slope of the embankment, suppress the shear failure of the upper part of the embankment, and effectively prevent overall deformation of the embankment.

Abstract

The article examines the specificity of the manifestation of active verbal aggression in Ukrainian phraseology through the use of the phraseoideographic paradigm. The typology of aggressive behavior of A. Buss and the postulate of the theory of argumentation and verbal aggressiveness of D. Infante are the basis of the research methodology. Analyzed are the classification parameters of active verbal aggression in the various communicative theories and practices. Specifics of manifestation of active verbal aggression (shout, accusation, demand, ridicule, criticism, insult, comment, gossip, slander, complaint, teasing, curse, blasphemy, indignation, destructive wish, threat, curse) in the Ukrainian phraseology is defined. The theoretical material is illustrated by a large number of examples. The context of using of a phraseological unit is considered as a conflict episode – a situation of communicative interaction of participants, during which contradictions are expressed. The study of the semantics, pragmatics and functioning of the phraseological units of active verbal aggression in the Ukrainian language shows that active verbal aggression is a complex system of interdependent mental reactions. These phraseology do not contradict modern knowledge of psychology and communicative linguistics about the studied subject, but at the same time the phraseological units form an independent system with the following signs: a) the state of the speaker’s dissatisfaction; b) a combination of verbal and non‑verbal components; c) intensifica-tion of manifestations; d) the correlation of the varieties of verbal aggression.
