Abstract

Ectopic pregnancy constitutes 2% of all pregnancies. In the last decades, due to the rising amount of caesarean sections, new localization of ectopic pregnancy has been observed — caesarean scar pregnancy (CSP). Cesarean scar pregnancy is an iatrogenic disease and a life-threatening condition which frequency will systematically rise. Because of possible serious complications, CSP should be swift ly diagnosed and treated. Th e purpose of this retrospective study was to demonstrate diff erent methods of CSP treatment performed between 2015–2018 in the Clinic of Endocrinological Gynaecology and Gynaecology Jagiellonian University Medical College in Cracow. Th e clinical characteristics, diagnosis, various methods of treatment and clinical outcomes were analysed. Defi nitive algorithm of CSP treatment is still not established. Pharmacological and operative methods are approved while expectant observation is considered unsafe due to possible risk of complications for the patient, including death.

Abstract

In this work, we developed the lanthanum strontium cobalt ferrite and it’s composite with yttrium iron cobaltite (mass ratio of 1:1) cathodes as a thin layer on Ce0.8Sm0.2O1.9 electrolyte. Two kinds of electrode pastes were prepared, with and without 6 mm polystyrene beads as an additional pore former. The performance of cathode materials was investigated by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy as a function of electrode morphology, oxygen partial pressure, potential, and temperature. The polarization resistance of the more porous electrodes was lower than those electrodes prepared without additional pore former in the whole potential range at 800°C, slightly lower at 700°C and 600°C. The addition of yttrium iron cobaltite decreased the performance of both types of cathodes. The lower polarization resistance of porous cathodes is due to the facilitated gas diffusion through their structure.

Abstract

Studies aimed at the economically sound increase in the capacity of existing power lines and improvements in their design are relevant today. In addition to the well-known design methods of influencing the capacity of the transmission line, there are other meanings that can affect its natural capacity, which is directly related to the capacity. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to find possible methods of increasing natural power and evaluate their effectiveness in real configurations. The basis of the methodological approach applied in this study is a qualitative combination of methods of systematic analysis of ways to increase the capacity of power lines with the analytical investigation of the prospects for its impact on wave resistance to increase the natural power of the line. The conducted research determined the total influence of the analyzed factors on the increase in transmission capacity and identified the most optimal configuration from a technical and economic standpoint. Based on the results of the calculation of the natural capacity of the configurations, conclusions were made about the significance of the impact of each of the above factors, and the economic effect of their implementation in the integrated power system was established. Improvement of this methodology can, in the long run, serve as a tool for calculating configurations for economic and technical relevance, or serve as a foundation for further identification of factors affecting the transmission capacity of power lines.
