Abstract

The surface matching is useful to solve the problem of comparing two surfaces obtained from two data sets of the same terrain. The data sets of points could be get from different sources such as Aerial and Satellite imagery, SAR, IFSAR, UDAR etc. The solution of surface matching problem is based on the some characterized contours existed on the surfaces as line features, which have to be expressed by parametric representation in frequency domain. Line features could be determined in the 2-D image or object space. For finding corresponding pair of point belonging to corresponding interest lines on the both surfaces, the image and object line features-based matching method has been used. Surface matching accuracy is estimated basing on the coordinates differences between the original and transformed surfa

Abstract

The paper presents a method of statistical analysis of multidimensional data by means of the PCA transformation (Principal Components Analysis), carried out by means of a neuron network. The PCA transformation, connected with the Karhunen-Loeve transformation is used for processing signals treated as stochastic processes. The method discussed in the paper, enables the reduction of input data on the basis of specified independent principal components with respect to their significance,

Abstract

The paper presents a method of testing trends in spatial distribution of objects and phenomena. which has been called by the author ,,the spatial concentration method". For those fields of knowledge, where information about trends in spatial distribution of phenomena is important, two meanings of the term ,,concentration" arc used. With respect to functionality it means a mechanism of processes, which lead to Ji versification of concentration of tested objects or phenomena in space. With respect to the structural aspect, the term ,.concentration" is understood as description of certain conditions of the tested spatial system, i.e. conditions of higher or lower concentration of the system elements. This paper focuses on concentration with respect to the latter case. The proposed method of spatial concentration is a tool, which allows for wide research investigations. It has been assumed that concentration is specified with respect to a reference function, which is selected according to the objective of investigations. Therefore it is possible to investigate various aspects of trends in distribution of phenomena. It should be stressed that the proposed method is of general nature, in a sense that it also covers other methods of investigations, which have been based on measures of concentration; the proposed method also allows for searching for trends in spatial distribution of phenomena and objects. The algorithm of determination of spatial concentration, presented in a simple form, is the base for software development and for automation of investigations.

Abstract

Surface matching is a fundamental task that must be solved whenever we want to merge data sets of same physical surface obtained with different sources. In general, the points in two sets are in different reference systems, not identical with different accuracy, distribution and density. To perform surface matching the different target functions are proposed. Proposed target function in section 1.4 is based on the condition of equality of triangle areas (TIN). This target function can be used for surface patches of pattern set S 1 generated also in squares (DEM). Conception of target function provided in section 1.5 is based on the combination of two conditions. The first of them is a condition of fitting two normal vectors of surface patches generated by square model (DEM) in set S 1 (as a pattern) and of triangle created with three points in set S2 (as a candidate). The second is one of four target functions upper represented.

Abstract

In the paper the mathematical approach of cadastre performance in time dimension is proposed. It is an amplification of the mathematical model of cadastre, which has been formulated by the Author before by means of the set theory.

Abstract

This paper presents a geeral concept of an adjustment method Edgeworth series applied. The author proposes to replace distributions with approximating functions representd by Edgeworth series, which would be a universal, probabilistic model of the adjustment problem. Special attention is paid to variance an lysis. A con variance matrix C, of the vector X, its estimate C,, and and estimate of the variance coefficient a0 are derived. Also some further properties of the proposed method are presented.

Abstract

Assuming correlation only within the results of measurement repetitions for each quantity observed in a network, equivalence has been proved for two forms of parametric adjustment model, which differ in the approach to measurement repetitions and are called the one-stage and the two-stage model respectively. As a complement to the known criterion of imperceptibility of disturbances in observations, the criterion of imperceptibility of correlation between the components of the observation vector has been formulated, which applies to each of the modules of the two-stage model. Assuming the structure of the observation error, being slightly developed as compared to the standard structure, the cases of meeting of each of the above criteria in those modules have been presented. Then, the relationship which combines measures of internal reliability for both the adjustment models under question has been given.

Abstract

Abstract

The paper discusses possibilities to utilise Intergraph's software, the Digital Cartographic Studio (DCS) in the process of map editing, basing on data stored in a Geographic Information System. The paper consists of two parts. The first part discusses principles concerning creation of conventional signs. Principles concerning creation and utilisation of rules applied for development of map graphics in the DCS are discussed in the second part of the paper.

Abstract

In this paper, the definitions of the space and projection systems, used in the mathematical model, have been shown. The projection system, situation of the plane and the projection centre have been established. The concept of the model of perspective projection process has been described: the stages of the geometrical data process (3D objects included in Electronic Navigation Chart- ENC) realized during projection process. Separately were considered the issues of changing of the reference plane and the projection centre with respect to the geocentrical reference system and movement of the ship as the geometrical object containing the reference system. They constitute a basis for preparing the conception of connecting the moving ship with the observer reference system using three established, nonlinear points (with known position with respect to the geocentrical reference system) placed on ship's board and with the horizontal topocentric reference system.

Abstract

In the present paper, the damage of fiber-reinforced composite laminates is considered with the aim to examine the change of their mechanical properties. The crucial issue for theoretical analysis is to construct constitutive relations, which talce into account the development of damage, along with stress and strain. The paper is mainly focused on this problem. In order to derive an adequate description, the author employs an approach based on polynomial invariants functions and invariants integrity basis by Adkins.
