Abstract
The author is trying to reconstruct the causes of moral panic around the
concept of gender and she is searching for reasons why this category is used in
the Polish press with the term „ideology”. Justifying the relevance of gender for
pedagogy, she compares the arguments of the supporters and opponents of
spreading scientific reflections about gender roles in school. Seeking
opportunities for dialogue between researchers and essayists, she asks about the
role of educators in re-thinking the gender theory and stresses urgent need to
engage in a public debate.
