In this situation, the limited potential of Polish coal mines for fulfilling the demand for coking coals ofappropriate quality, constitutes a real danger. It is especially valid for orthocoking coal (type 35 by Polish Standards) the resources ofwhich, as well as the production capacity, are limited in Poland. However, its share in coal blends has been growing continuously in connection with with the increasing quality requirements of coke users. Given these circumstances, introducing proper technological processes in the sphere of coal blends preparation at our coking plants can be a good alternative for importing this coal, mainly from the United States and Australia. These processes will make it possible to partially substitute the gas-coking coals (type 34 by Polish Standards), which are easily available on the domestic market, for the scarce orthocoking coals (type 35 by Polish Standards). The above-mentioned processes should include: optimal selection of components of coal blends, effective homogenization of a coal blend and its components, rational crushing of coal, coal charge compacting and coal charge preheating and drying. In the conclusions, a comparison of the effectiveness of the above-mentioned processes was made in respect of the possibilty of increasing the gas-coking coals content in coal blends without deteroriation of the quality of the produced coke.}, title={Increasing chances of utilizing the domestic coking coal resources through technological operations in coal blend preparation}, type={Artykuł}, URL={http://journals.pan.pl/Content/133473/PDF/3_GSM_TOM_24_1_2008_KARCZ_Zwiekszenie.pdf}, keywords={hard coal, coking process, preparation of coal blends for coke production}, }
