All the three rock types are similar in their mineral composition except for the presence of hematite in the red clays. With regard to the kind and content of clay minerals (micas including), the rocks are distinctly polymineral. Almost as a rule they do not contain carbonate minerals, representing thus a non-calcareous variety of clayey rocks. Also, their content oforganic matter is low, both in the main mass ofthe red clays and in their greenish grey interlayers and nests. The grain size distributions of the clays are generally characterized by elevated shares of the silt fraction, which result - among others - in relatively high median values, reaching I O μm. Firing curves of all the clay varietes are typical ofnon-calcareous raw materials. Some differences in the values of technological ceramic parameters and also in characteristic firing temperatures have been caused by variations in the content of iron oxides. As the latter are minor constituents in the greenish grey interlayers and nests, sintering of these clay varieties is inferior when compared to the basic mass of the red clayey raw material.}, title={Mineralogical and technological characteristics of interlayers and nests in the triassic red clays ofthe northern margin of the Holy Cross Mts}, type={Artykuł}, URL={http://journals.pan.pl/Content/133633/PDF/3_GSM_23_1_2007_Wyszomirski_Charakterystyka.pdf}, keywords={Red clays, greenish grey interlayers, Triassic, Holy Cross Mts., non-calcareous clays}, }
