TY - JOUR N2 - A new species of lichenized ascomycete, Massalongia olechiana Alstrup et Søchting, sp. nov. (Massalongiaceae) is described from the South Shetland Islands and the Antarctic Peninsula. The species is distinguished by laminal isidia and 5–7−septate ascospores. The relationships with the other species of the genus are discussed. From Massalongia carnosa , recorded from both the Arctic and the Antarctic, the new species is distinguished by its lack of isidioid squamules and in having pluriseptate ascospores instead of 1−septate ascospores L1 - http://journals.pan.pl/Content/99492/PDF/10183_Volume32_Issue2_03_article.pdf L2 - http://journals.pan.pl/Content/99492 PY - 2011 IS - No 2 EP - 121 DO - 10.2478/v10183−011−0011−y KW - Antarctic KW - lichens KW - lichenized ascomycetes KW - Massalongia A1 - Vagn Alstrup A1 - Søchting, Ulrik PB - Polish Academy of Sciences PB - Committee on Polar Research DA - 2011 T1 - Massalongia olechiana (Massalongiaceae, Peltigerales), a new lichen species from the Antarctic SP - 117 UR - http://journals.pan.pl/dlibra/publication/edition/99492 T2 - Polish Polar Research ER -
