Abstract

The aim of this article is to analyze and interpret way in which a topos of Cain was evoked in literary works and other texts of culture in the light of the concept of transgression. An approach adapted in analysis will be inspired by comparative hermeneutics, yet not only literary contexts will be taken into consideration, but also religious, philosophical, and scientific ones. In the very structure of the topos one can discern a series of binary oppositions, which become valuated in various ways in different historical contexts. It is above all the opposition between destructive and constructive component of the theme. Interpretations of the topos in the works of George Byron, Władysław Orkan, and Jerzy Andrzejewski are discussed deeper. The analysis leads to the conclusion that in the historical development of a significant change in its valuation is taking place. Regarded as a symbol of evil in the Middle Ages, it is ennobled as a patron of rebels, reformers and creators in the twentieth century.

Abstract

With the development of building seismic isolation technology and the official release of the Isolation Code in September 2021, seismic isolation design in China will now rely on two foundational codes: the Seismic Code and the Isolation Code. This paper take a ceramic jar storage of the RC frame structure as the research object, and carry out the seismic isolation design based on the separated calculation design method of the Seismic Code and the unitary calculation design method of the Isolation Code respectively, and clarify the control index of the Isolation Code is the story drift angle. The maximum displacement is reduced by 37.5%. In terms of material consumption, the Isolation Code leads to a 5.94% decrease in concrete usage, accompanied by a 13.97% increase in steel consumption, resulting in an overall cost increase of 4.98%. The findings indicate that seismic isolation design, guided by the Isolation Code, substantially mitigates the seismic response of the superstructure. The damage extent to structural members is reduced by 15–20%, promoting enhanced safety and repairability. The outcomes of this study offer valuable insights for future seismic isolation designs in RC frame structures.

Abstract

The article analyzes the state of lexicographic modeling of modern Slavic morphemics, primarily the Ukrainian language. The development of Ukrainian morphemography over the past 40 years has been traced. Particular attention is paid to the computer morpheme and word‑formative fund of the Ukrainian language, which was created and is being developed by researchers of the Institute of the Ukrainian Language of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in Kyiv. Common parameters of the form and semantics of roots and affixes are highlighted, which can become a basis for comparative studies. It is noted that, in contrast to Ukrainian morphemology, the morphemic dictionaries of other Slavic languages rarely present complex morphemic units: pairs and chains of affixal morphemes, affixal surroundings (lattices) of roots, models of the morphemic structure of words and morphemic nets for constructing words of certain parts of speech. The need to create a common factual basis, a common theoretical and methodological foundation for carrying out comparative studies on morphemics is emphasized. Only under this condition can we expect reliable conclusions about the typology and characterology of Slavic morphemics in general and morphemics of a certain Slavic language in particular. Abstract

The study reports the results of a comparative analysis of advanced high-accuracy Stewart-Lift platform along with a comparative study of dynamic control. A control system powered by a programmable logic controller (PLC) was used. The properties of the system were described using a dynamic model using the Lagrange method. The real object was verified by performing several tests and comparing them using quality indicators. The results of verification tests conclusively demonstrate the system’s suitability for applications within industrial automation and robotics systems.

Abstract

The jubilee volume “Slavica Wratislaviensia”, CLIX: Wyraz i zdanie w językach słowiańskich (8), is a collection of contributions by pupils, collegues, and friends, dedicated to Professor Jan Sokołowski slavist of Wroclaw University, on the occasion of his 70th birthday. The publication topics covered subjects connected with researches on word and sentence in Slavic languages, their description, comparative and contrastive studies, and translation. They take up important current topics, reliably and comprehensively analyze problems that have not been noticed before or have not been solved yet. Due to the selection of topics and high scientific level (most authors are renowned linguists) the volume should be considered as representative for contemporary Slavic linguistics.
