Abstrakt:

In the paper, a solution of the time-fractional single-phase-lagging heat conduction problem in finite regions is presented. The heat conduction equation with the Caputo time-derivative is complemented by the Robin boundary conditions. The Laplace transform with respect to the time variable and an expansion in the eigenfunctions series with respect to the space variable was applied. A method for the numerical inversion of the Laplace transforms was used. Formulation and solution of the problem cover the heat conduction in a finite slab, hollow cylinder and hollow sphere. The effect of the fractional order of the Caputo derivative and the phase-lag parameter on the temperature distribution in a slab has been numerically investigated.

Abstrakt

Main goal of the paper is to present the algorithm serving to solve the heat conduction inverse problem. Authors consider the heat conduction equation with the Riemann-Liouville fractional derivative and with the second and third kind boundary conditions. This type of model with fractional derivative can be used for modelling the heat conduction in porous media. Authors deal with the heat conduction inverse problem, which, in this case, consists in identifying an unknown thermal conductivity coefficient. Measurements of temperature, in selected point of the region, are the input data for investigated inverse problem. Basing on this information, a functional describing the error of approximate solution is created. Minimizing of this functional is necessary to solve the inverse problem. In the presented approach the Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) algorithm is used for minimization.

Abstrakt

In the paper positive fractional continuous-time linear systems are considered. Positive fractional systems without delays and positive fractional systems with a single delay in control are studied. New criteria for approximate and exact controllability of systems without delays as well as a relative controllability criterion of systems with delay are established and proved. Numerical examples are presented for different controllability criteria. A practical application is proposed.

Abstrakt

The paper investigates the controllability of fractional descriptor linear systems with constant delays in control. The Caputo fractional derivative is considered. Using the Drazin inverse and the Laplace transform, a formula for solving of the matrix state equation is obtained. New criteria of relative controllability for Caputo’s fractional descriptor systems are formulated and proved. Both constrained and unconstrained controls are considered. To emphasize the importance of the theoretical studies, an application to electrical circuits is presented as a practical example.

Abstrakt

In this study, a new physical model has been created to look into the behaviour of transient incompressible unsteady flow between two infinite parallel plates exposed to high temperatures. The model takes into consideration thermal radiation flux, chemical reaction, and mass diffusion at the boundaries. To handle non-integer behaviour, the model incorporates the Caputo notion of time fractional derivative. To solve this complex physical fractional order fluid model, a novel optimal homotopy asymptotic method and semi-analytical methodology is extended and utilized successfully. This method pro-vides a third-order highly approximate solution, offering valuable insights into the behaviour within the system. The study comprehensively examines the effects of varied flow characteristics and fractional order on the dynamics of the system. The results are visually presented through graphs, offering a clear understanding of the system's response under different conditions. The effectiveness and ease of use of the optimal homotopy asymptotic method make it a valuable tool for solving boundary value fractional order problems encountered in scientific fields. The developed physical model and its fractional extension contribute significantly to the understanding of unsteady flow phenomena with thermal and chemical effects, advancing knowledge in this area of research.

Abstrakt

In this paper we discuss the linear quadratic (LQ) optimization problem subject to fractional order irregular singular systems. The aim of this paper is to find the control-state pairs satisfying the dynamic constraint of the form a fractional order irregular singular systems such that the LQ objective functional is minimized. The method of solving is to convert such LQ optimization into the standard fractional LQ optimization problem. Under some particularly conditions we find the solution of the problem under consideration.

Abstrakt

In this paper, we study the modern mathematical theory of the optimal control problem associated with the fractional Roesser model and described by Caputo partial derivatives, where the functional is given by the Riemann-Liouville fractional integral. In the formulated problem, a new version of the increment method is applied, which uses the concept of an adjoint integral equation. Using the Banach fixed point principle, we prove the existence and uniqueness of a solution to the adjoint problem. Then the necessary and sufficient optimality condition is derived in the form of the Pontryagin’s maximum principle. Finally, the result obtained is illustrated by a concrete example.

This paper examines the controllability of mild solutions for a specific class of neutral fractional evolution equations with finite state-dependent delays in Fréchet space, employing Caputo fractional derivatives. The study combines Avramescu’s nonlinear alternatives in Fréchet spaces and semigroup theory, establishing sufficient conditions to the controllability of these solutions.
